Fantastic Footwear: Ash Jalouse Suede Ankle Boots from Allsole

Ankle boots are the boots of the season.  They look fab with anything, but for AW13 an easy, casual look is to pair them with some skinny jeans and a chunky jumper.

I have found some gorgeous and classic Jalouse suede ankle boots by the brand Ash.  They are perfect for pairing with jeans, but would also look great with shorter skirts, plus they're smart enough to be worn for work.  The vintage cowboy style makes them unique - but they are contemporary too!  The heel is 6cm, so not too high to be impractical but high enough to look good.  They are 100% suede leather too, so great quality that will last.
By far the best value ones can be found at Allsole right now - there's currently 20% off with the code MIDSEASON and they come in wood ash dark brown (pictured) for £135 or a topo tan/light brown for £149.  However, with the code, the wood ash pair is just £108 and the topo tan is £119.20.  The code ends on 22nd October 2013.

Fantastic Footwear: Groove Cognac Force Boots from Hot Topic

Hot Topic is an American website that stocks current, music-inspired trends.  They are really good for rock and band merchandise, but they also stock items relating to comics, cult films and cartoons, so it's easy to find something fun and unique.  They are currently offering 25% off everything so it's definitely worth a look at what they've got!

I've always been partial to a pair of military style boots and I love these lace up Groove Cognac ones. One can style military boots in so many ways - pair with a floaty dress to add an edge to a feminine look or simply wear with jeans.  The nineties grunge look is still going strong, so these would be perfect for recreating that era!  Originally $46.50, with the discount they are only $34.88 (about £22) and come in US sizes 5 to 10 - so UK 2 1/2 to 7 1/2 ish.
The only problem is that shipping isn't cheap - around £35 from what I can tell, but if one is buying a lot, it may be worth it for cool items that can't be found elsewhere!

Fantastic Footwear: United Nude Fold Mid Rave Ankle Boots from Shoes.co.uk

One can't go wrong with a great pair of ankle boots.  A classic tan or black leather pair is a wardrobe staple, but fun and funky is always a good thing.

I really like these United Nude ankle boots - or are they shoe boots? - from online store Shoes.co.uk.  Whichever they may be, they're practical but cheery.  The rainbow pattern is gorgeous and will add a lovely pop of colour to any outfit.  The heel height is great - a little lift, but not too high, meaning they should be comfortable to wear.  The outer fabric is slightly elasticated, meaning that they should fit nice and snugly also!  Originally £138.95, they are reduced to £104.25 with free delivery.
It's also worth noting that there is a discount code for 5% off full-priced items at Shoes.co.uk until the end of August.

Fantastic Footwear: Aleene Ankle Boots from Moda in Pelle

Even though summer is - hopefully - not coming to an end, summer sales seem to be and fashion's mind is turned towards the Autumn months.  However, there are loads of items that are versatile enough that can be used for any season and one of these is the humble ankle boot.  There are many ways to wear ankle boots to make legs look streamlined and be suitable for hotter weather.  I think they look great with flared summer skirts or dresses - either with bare legs or tights - but they also work with skinny jeans and slouchy jumpers.  So ultimately, perfect for the seasonal transitions coming up!

Colour-wise, a classic black or tan will last season after season and, for this reason too, it's worth investing in a great quality, leather version.  I've been looking at the pre-Fall collection at Moda in Pelle and think that these Aleene ankle boots are perfect.  There's a heel to give some definition, but not too much to be impractical!  The buckles keep the look interesting and a little edgy to avoid being boring.  And they are quality leather and will last.  I'd wear these with some dark skinny jeans and a fab statement t-shirt for a real rock-chick, festival look.
They come in sizes 3 to 8, black or tan, and are £89.95.  Until the end of today, customers can save £10 on orders over £80 with code MODASAVE or else new customers can save 20% with code NEW20 until the 31st July.

Splendid Skirt: Jasmin Chevron Stripe Black & White Maxi Skirt from Phase Eight

Phase Eight are offering customers 20% off everything on the site at the moment, which is great news as I've had my eye on a few choice pieces for a while!  Bang on trend is this monochrome striped maxi skirt, which is reduced from £69 to £55.20 and available in sizes 8 to 18.  I'd team it with a simple, white vest top and a black and white, contrasting patterned blazer to develop Paul and Joe's SS13 catwalk style in a savvy way.

It also comes in navy and beige, but I prefer the black and white!
