Splendid Skirt: Doctor Who Van Gogh TARDIS Contour Skirt from Hot Topic

I've written about Hot Topic before, which is an American website that stocks current, fun and funky trends that can't be easily found elsewhere.

I adore this Doctor Who TARDIS skirt.  Hip hugging and edgy, it's perfect for an evening out at the pub if one is daring enough!  Combine with some Doc Marten boots or similar, t-shirt and leather jacket for a bold, urban look.

Available in sizes extra-small to extra-large, it's just $22.50 (about £14) but there's currently a 30% off flash promotion with the code 30OFF.

Summer Staple: Betsey Johnson Forget Me Not Bikini from Bloomingdales

Bloomingdales is one of those amazing, iconic American stores which stocks some gorgeous designer brands and it now ships to the UK which is great!  They are currently offering 25% off selected swimwear until the 27th May, so I have been perusing the site for something interesting and different.

I have loved the designer Betsey Johnson for years but haven't really seen her products in the UK, although I believe there is a store in London.  Her collections are retro but still contemporary and feminine.  They are also really fun, unique and pretty - like this Forget Me Not bikini.  The azure blue is a gorgeous colour and I love the crochet and rose details.  I think the ruffled skirt gives an element of femininity but also can cover up and flatter, if needs be.  Both the top and the bottoms are each reduced from £60.48 to £45.36.  Postage-wise, orders over £100 cost £5 shipping (which is great value from the USA), so it may be worth getting one's order above that figure!
If there's anything else that is of interest on the site, by signing up to the newsletter, customers can get 10% off a future order.

Delightful Dress: May Day Pink Floral Swing Dress from Unique Vintage

A classic 1950's Rockabilly swing dress will suit almost any woman, with its feminine hourglass silhouette, cinched waist and full skirt.  The trend can be taken to the max when combined with victory rolls, a net petticoat, bright lips and patent heels or it can be pared down with some simple flat pumps and a lovely cardi.  There are so many fantastic 50's inspired dresses out there but for this post, I've gone to sunny California to the site Unique Vintage.  It's a fabulous site full of vintage inspired clothing for men and women, as well as gifts and accessories, and they do ship to the UK.

It's been really hard to pick just one dress from the site as there are so many, but by checking what's in the sale in a decent range of sizes I have chosen this pink and white floral swing dress which is still available in sizes small to extra-large.  I think it's a really pretty way of wearing the trend without going overboard and the pink detailing in the middle makes the waist seem tiny!  This dress is perfect for summer and would look lovely at a garden party or wedding.  Originally $130, it's $68 in the sale with shipping about $38 - so all in all, about £68 delivered.  But to be honest, I'll be stocking up with some accessories and other goodies from the site to make the shipping costs more economical....!
