So as I blogged at the time, I took the plunge last week and made my first purchase from private discount website SecretSales.com.  I have to say, I am very impressed!  My Lucky Brand sandals arrived today - they are superb and will be perfect for the warmer weather.  They fit beautifully, feel comfortable, look amazing and the quality is excellent - and I paid a fraction of the recommended retail price!  I'm also pretty impressed with the delivery time, as I was expecting it to take longer.  So thumbs up to SecretSales.com - highly recommended as a means for major savvy chic and canny style!

Putting my money where my mouth is: Top Cashback

I had a bit of a surprise today by being a little more canny than I meant to be!  I subscribed to Grazia magazine through Great Magazines using Top Cashback.  It was £18 for the quarter for both the digital and print editions which I thought was already a great deal, as it is a saving on buying it from the shop each week.  Coupled with that, I got just over £6 cashback so even more savvy savings.  But on top of that, I saw that I was entitled to a free gift of some haircare products, apparently worth over £46 but you never know with these things.  I assumed I'd get some shampoo, conditioner and some spray or similar  but look what turned up this afternoon....

So, in terms of savvy and canny purchases, I think I have done rather well. A fab mag, potentially gorgeous hair and a bargain!

There's some lovely, great value and contemporary items at Forever 21 which prides itself on being style conscious and trend-savvy.  Today only (21st April), they are celebrating their birthday with 21% off with the code BDAY21, so it's a great time to stock up!

I love this unique lightweight stripey jumper with a mesh panel and peter pan collar.  It's perfect for spring with its gorgeous pastel pink and white colours and short sleeves and will look fab with a skirt or shorts.  Available in sizes S - L (4 - 12 UK) it's normally £14.75 which is a bargain even without the discount!

I know I've only recently done a UNIQLO post, but how amazing is this Lulu Guiness designed cat print top, available for just £12.90?  Perfect print, perfect collar, perfect cut, perfect material (100% cotton) and perfect price!  It's available in sizes XS - L and in white, as shown, or black.  Gorgeous!

Wardrobe Staple: Hunter Wellies from MandMDirect.com

Hunter wellies are the wellies to be seen in and, for that reason, stores seem to think they are able to charge silly prices.   In researching this post, I've seen prices of over £100 for a simple, standard pair of Hunters but you don't actually need to pay more than about £50 if you are just a little savvy and do your homework!  This may still seem like quite a lot, but it's well worth paying a little extra for them as they are excellent quality, they will last and they give some classic British style to your look.

Amazon often have some good deals but, just like with Converse, you have to do a little digging and have a little patience to get the colour and size combination that you want.  The best deal at the moment seems to be from online store MandMDirect.com which has discounts on a range of Hunter products, including the original tall gloss boots in a variety of colours for £49.99.  I love this turquoise colour, but unfortunately it's only available in sizes 3 and 8.

So it may be better to go for a pastel pink, yellow or a stone colour which are all available in a better range of sizes!  But if those colours don't suit, keep looking and don't pay more than you need to.
