Delightful Dress: Polka Dot Dress from Wallis

For a limited time, there's up to 30% off all items on the Wallis website.  There are so many gorgeous items there, but with Spring peeping its head out, I think it's time to look once again for pretty, floaty dresses.

I love this classic taupe spotty dress.  The shape and style is very flattering with its tie waist to cinch in the waist and the slightly flared skirt to skim hips.  At the moment, it could be worn with a cardi or short jacket but once we get more sun, I'd pair it with some wedged Summer sandals.

Originally £45, it's currently £36 with the discount and comes in sizes 8 to 20.

Boohoo.com is great for fun, contemporary and good value clothing.  Customers can stock up each season without breaking the bank and, even better, they've just launched a new range of plus-sized clothing from sizes 16 to 24.

Spots are still on trend this season so I've spotted (ha) this black and white polka dot skirt.  It's perfect for the day, teamed with some heeled sandals or ankle boots and a sweater until the weather improves, and then a simple t-shirt or vest top would look fab.

It's £20 and I can't see any discounts for the site right now, but I think it is good value.  However, by using the code NEXTUK by 8pm today, customers can get free next day delivery so that's something!

Big Spot Skirt from Cath Kidston

There's currently up to 30% off in the Cath Kidston sale, with loads of fashion, kids' items, homewear and accessories.  I'm very tempted to stock up on some crafty bits - especially one of the large sewing baskets - and there is so much Christmas stuff left that will be perfect for next year.  But my eye has also been caught by this lovely polka dot red and white flared skirt.  Perfect for almost any casual occasion, the elasticated, cinched waist means it will be easy to wear, flatter and look great.  It's reduced from £35 to £24.

Beautiful Bag: Spot Weekend Bag from Cath Kidston

One of my favourite sale events is the Cath Kidston sale.  They always have a great variety of items at a discount and it's easy to stock up on 'essentials' without going too overboard with spending.

This green spotty weekender bag has caught my eye in the latest sale.  The colour is vibrant and gorgeous and the spots are fun.  The size (48 x 33 x 15 cm) is perfect for a weekend away, not too big but not too small.  The handles are long enough to put over the shoulder, so easy to carry and it's oilcloth that can be wiped clean, so easy to keep looking (hoho, no pun intended) spotless!  Originally £60, it's been reduced by a third to £40, which is great value for a bag like this.

Terrific Top: Lemon Spotted Sleeveless Blouse from Dorothy Perkins

Sleeveless blouses are great for the warmer months.  They can be worn casually with shorts and flat sandals or dressed up so one is smart but cool in the office.  A simple, cotton white one is a wardrobe staple but other colours and patterns are always a good thing!

Yellow is the perfect colour to celebrate the sun finally making an appearance and this lemon, spotted sleeveless blouse from Dorothy Perkins is delightful and summery.  There's currently up to 30% off selected items at Dorothy Perkins, so it can be bought for £18.20 (usually £26) - but hurry as the offer ends at midnight tonight!  The blouse comes in sizes 6 to 22.

Over the Top: Grey Spotty Jacquard Blazer from Warehouse

Warehouse have a time-limited offer of 25% off seasonal selections at the moment and there are loads of fantastic dresses, tops and shoes to choose from.

I've gone for a twist on a wardrobe staple, and selected this grey spotty blazer.  Polka dots continue to be a big hit this season and I suspect they won't be just a flash in the pan, as they are so fun and fresh and never date. This jacket will look fab worn casually with skinnies or it can make a pretty dress look smarter.  Usually £50, it's £37 with the discount and comes in sizes 6 to 16.

As a bonus feature, I also wish to highlight these amazing teal coloured opaque sunglasses.  They aren't on sale but they are the best sunglasses I have found this season and are only £16.  I love the colour, size and style and they suit everyone that I have seen them on.  Warehouse offer free delivery on orders over £75 so it may just be worth stocking up on a few essentials!

Summer Staple: Blue Spot Halterneck Swimsuit from Evans

There's 20% off swimwear at Evans until the 20th May, so it's a great opportunity to update your swimsuit with something flattering and fabulous!  And this is just what this blue spotty halterneck swimming costume is.    The cut and style is pure Marilyn Monroe, flattering the neckline and bust and minimising the waist for a fantastic hourglass silhouette.  It's slightly padded and underwired, so will give great support, and its classic, retro shape will never go out of fashion.  It's a real bargain too normally, at just £32, but with 20% off it's just £25.60 and comes in sizes 14 to 32.  No code is needed - the discount will be applied at the checkout automatically.

Delightful Dress: Louche Leanna Spot Collar Dress from Joy

There are some gorgeous men's and women's clothes, accessories and gifts at JOY, which specialises in unique, limited and wonderful finds.  There are still items available in the sale and I am very tempted by this peter pan collared spotty navy dress.  The cut is classic and flattering and polka dots are always perfect, no matter what size!  The contrasting coral coloured piping on the collar and belt take what could be a very normal (although pretty) dress and add a pop of gaiety and brightness.  Originally £59, it's been reduced to £40 in the sale and is available in sizes 8, 10 and 14.

I would also like to point out about it at the moment is that, with purchases over £75, customers can get a free dragonfly print dress from JOY!  This can only be a good thing although I am not sure how this works with sale items.  Certainly worth a punt though...

Delightful Dress: Red & White Spotty Prom Dress from BHS

The BHS Spectacular Event is now on, with up to 30% off in-store and online.  I have had my eye on this Sophie Gray spotty red and white prom dress for ages now but obviously didn't want to pay full price - but now I don't have to!  As with all prom dresses, the cut is classic and flattering.  The colours are great and I like the way the polka dots are larger than one often gets with spotty dresses; it adds a unique twist.  There is also netting underneath the full skirt, which will give a lovely vintage-inspired shape.  Usually £49, with 20% off it's £39.20 in sizes 16 - 22.

Delightful Dress:Notch Neck Shift Dress from Boden

Get in quick - the Boden mid-season sale has just started and, if past experience is anything to go by, the best items sell out fast.  There are loads of fabulous, great quality clothes, shoes and accessories available with up to 50% off.

I love this notch necked shift dress which was £99 but is now £59.40 to £89.10 in the sale (depending on the pattern and size chosen).  I love all the patterns - spots, stripes, colour combos - it doesn't matter to me as they are all lovely!  The cotton and linen material combination will be perfect to keep cool when the weather improves and the style is classic and flattering.  A good range of sizes is still available - from 6 to 22 in regular and long lengths - but with Boden sales, there really is a need to snap up those bargains before they go!  

Divine Collaboration: Celia Birtwell for UNIQLO

Celia Birtwell is a textile designer specialising in unique, striking and feminine designs.  Successful in the 60's and 70's, she's had a massive comeback with her vintage-inspired prints and has collaborated with UNIQLO to produce a gorgeous and reasonably-priced collection.  

Items still available include cotton/modal mix t-shirts at just £12.90 The prints are all fab, but I like this floral horsey one, which is fairly neutral but still pretty.  It's available in sizes XS - XL.

This spotty dress is available in mint green (shown), black or navy in sizes XS - L and has been reduced from £29.90 to £19.90.  This could be worn as a dress or over leggings or jeans.  

And finally, these patterned leggings are fantastic.  They are available in cobalt blue (shown), teal or navy blue in sizes XS - XL and are £14.90.  I would wear a fairly plain long top over them with ballet flats but you could be more creative and avant-garde by combining clashing, flamboyant patterns!

I'm very impressed with this collection, not just because of the range of items available and the superb prices, but that there is so much that is still available.  I find that often, these limited edition collborative collections sell out so quickly, so hats off to UNIQLO for ensuring that this isn't the case this time!
