Ekata Tweed Blazer by Malene Birger from Atterley Road

There are lots of lovely designer clothes, shoes and accessories in the Atterley Road mid-season sale, all with up to 50% off right now.

Structured jackets are great for the changeable Spring weather and I love this cream tweed blazer by Malene Birger.  The colour combination means that it will go with almost everything, but the beaded embellishment and trim prevents it from being ordinary.  It could be worn for work, over a shift dress and with courts - or wear it with skinny jeans and ankle boots for the day.  Originally £345, it's now £244 and available in sizes 10 to 14.

Silver Bells Blazer from Great Plains

There are some nice offers at Great Plains at present and there are loads of gorgeous dresses, tops, trousers coats and more available, all great quality at great prices.

This 'Silver Bells' cobalt blue blazer is perfect for the transitioning months.  It's a perfect blend of cotton with a hint of elastane, so will fit perfectly. And, of course, the cobalt blue is the colour for Spring!  I'd wear it with a simple t-shirt, skinny jeans and pumps for a casual, daytime look, but it could also be worn to the office over a tailored blouse and skirt.  Best yet, it was originally £75 but is just £24 in the sale - a real quality bargain.

Over the Top: Boyfriend Blazer from Hush

I've said it before and I'll say it again - one cannot beat a good quality, classic blazer.  It's so versatile, can be worn for day, office or evening (depending on styling) and looks fabulous.

I've been hankering after this cotton fuchsia blazer from Hush for ages now, but at £55 I couldn't really justify the purchase.  But the Hush sale is on - hurrah!  In an unstructured, boyfriend style, it's perfect for throwing over a t-shirt and denim shorts with the sleeves rolled up, for a casual, summer look.  Not only is the style pretty timeless, it's superb quality, being 100% cotton, so should last.  And best of all, it's been reduced in the sale to just £20.  It also comes in cornflower blue and shadow black.

The Look for Less: Wedding Party from my-wardrobe.com

Online fashion retailer my-wardrobe.com is full of gorgeous designer pieces and wardrobe staples from the finest women's fashion brands.  They are currently running a promotion (until 26th May) whereby customers can get £50 off £180 or more spends, so it's really worth having a look to see what key investment pieces can be found.

As wedding season is almost upon us, I have created a set on Polyvore suitable for a fabulous summer wedding.  I have gone for a feminine yet edgy look, using the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Eight botanical print dress as my foundation teamed with some killer accessories.  And when the evening starts to draw in, just throw on this sumptuous J Brand Marianne buttermilk leather and papertwill jacket.  Perfect!

Over the Top: Grey Spotty Jacquard Blazer from Warehouse

Warehouse have a time-limited offer of 25% off seasonal selections at the moment and there are loads of fantastic dresses, tops and shoes to choose from.

I've gone for a twist on a wardrobe staple, and selected this grey spotty blazer.  Polka dots continue to be a big hit this season and I suspect they won't be just a flash in the pan, as they are so fun and fresh and never date. This jacket will look fab worn casually with skinnies or it can make a pretty dress look smarter.  Usually £50, it's £37 with the discount and comes in sizes 6 to 16.

As a bonus feature, I also wish to highlight these amazing teal coloured opaque sunglasses.  They aren't on sale but they are the best sunglasses I have found this season and are only £16.  I love the colour, size and style and they suit everyone that I have seen them on.  Warehouse offer free delivery on orders over £75 so it may just be worth stocking up on a few essentials!

Over the Top: Pink Minimal Blazer from A|Wear

It's still the perfect time for blazers and I really like this pastel pink, collarless blazer from A|wear, who are now offering up to 70% off in their sale.  Slightly tailored, it nips in at the waist for a flattering silhouette and the delicate colour is perfect for the season.  The lack of collar makes it more interesting and different to the average blazer!  As with all jackets like this, it would be great with skinny jeans and flat pumps, but it could be glammed up easily with a dress and heels.  Originally £60, it's now £42 in sizes 6, 12, 16 and 18.

The Look for Less: Savvy Monochrome from Amazon

For this look, I have been inspired by Paul and Joe's Spring/Summer 2013 collection, which I am completely in love with.  I have found all the pieces on Amazon, either discounted already or which will (hopefully) work with the current discount code for selected fashion.  Or all else failing, they're pretty good value!

Wardrobe Staple: Sun Dry Cotton Blazer from French Connection

A decent, good-quality, well-fitted blazer is an essential.  It can be thrown over anything and looks especially good over jeans and a simple top or with a maxi dress.  I've also seen them looking fab with shorts and, of course, they can be worn with more formal skirts, dresses and trousers for the office.

There's loads of blazers out there, and I've already posted about this one from Wallis.  However, I think it's worth thinking about investing in one that is going to last and for that reason, I often to go for those that contain quality materials such as wool, linen or cotton.  A bit of stretch is often helpful also.  Colour-wise, anything works - plain or patterned - and it's all down to personal taste.  The current style seems to be the boyfriend blazer which is single-breasted and longer, skimming the hips.  It compliments most women's shapes, especially the V-neckline which lengthens and flatters the upper body.  I'd also go for a single or, at the most two, for a more casual look -  a greater number of buttons tends to look more formal and office-y.

I've chosen this red cotton and elastane red blazer from French Connection, which is currently in the sale.  I think it would look amazing over indigo skinny jeans and a white top and I have some amazing red shoes from Schuh (bought ages ago - sorry!) that would complement it perfectly!  It comes in sizes 6 - 16 and has been reduced from £120 to £90.

Summer Staple: Ted Baker Jaynesh Tuxedo Tailored Shorts from House of Fraser

House of Fraser are currently in the middle of their two-day brand event, both online and in-store, meaning there's up to 25% branded products until midnight on Friday 26th April.

I have had my eye on these mint coloured Ted Baker tuxedo shorts for a while to take me into the summer months but, at £109, the price was a little scary despite the quality.  However, with the 25% discount from House of Fraser, this is reduced to £87.20.  The tuxedo tailoring is classic and the front pleats should flatter the thighs.  They can be tailored with a simple t-shirt or blouse or made a little more edgy with a funky vest top.  These come in sizes 6 - 14.

And oh look!  There's a matching 'Jayne' jacket, also with 25% off, so they can be worn as an amazingly chic outfit to the office when the weather improves!  Stylish, savvy, canny and chic.  What more can you want?

Over the Top: Coral Blazer from Wallis

I've been searching for a decent coral blazer for ages, just a simple, boyfriend style one with a single button that can be thrown over a t-shirt and my jeans.  And of course, one with a discount!  However, for some reason, it's been proving rather difficult until I found this one from Wallis, where there's currently up to 30% off everything.  I love the cut of this blazer as it's slightly longer and skims the hips and yet still has some slight definition around the waistline.  It's also got a bit of stretch, which is always a bonus.  Normally £40, with the discount it's £32.

Initially, they didn't have the right size for me (this one comes in sizes 10 - 16) but when I checked again, they did, so I wonder if stock is coming back in?  Therefore, if you are looking to take advantage of the current discount, it's certainly worth checking every now and again if your size isn't currently available.
There's a similar one on the site for the same price, but with less definition in the waist - but that one goes up to a size 18 if needed.  Again, sizes in stock have been changing throughout the day so worth checking every now and again.
